I rode about 40 miles on a tire ( rear) with a ripped tube. I spent about 15 bux on fix a flat,, I noticed that it ode okay in a straight line at about 70 MPH. The tire was pretty new, so it had plenty of rubber on it to make it stiff,, When it started feelin really scary at low speed, Id stop & pump more fixaflat in,, most of the trip was open road, thankfully.

I think you got the best of both worlds myself.
Cal air, strong, healthy, laid back attitude... just what you need in a rear tire, on the ground and taken a strong bite out of the asfalt.
SC air, twitchy, don't know which way to go, but wanting to.
