Plate light - will this keep the law off my back?

I happen to live pretty close to the Dragon and I hear the cops here get hardassed about plates on bikes from time to time.
So I went with a horizontal mount on the side b/c TN law says to, but I need to light it next. Will something like this do?

You can't have a white light showing to the rear, & if they're cracking down they could say that's what these do.
I'd cut a piece of metal about 1"x3", cut a slot in one end to fit behind the plate over the bolt, then bend it into a U to hide the light from the rear. That should light the plate & not show white light to the rear.
Only opinion that counts is the cops in a situation where it ain't stock. I'd ask one of the local cops for an opinion if it was me.

That might work.
What about just getting a bullet LED, masking off the bottom and blacking out the top? Then it would only shine down......

I have these same ones on the busa. Got em at cycle gear. Mount up easy, point right at the plate. So bright you can see the light during the day.

Get the ones that are designed to only light the plate. Those bullet ones are technically illegal.
Where's WD? Getting ready for work. 0445 local, already pushing mid-80s temps, supposed to be heat index of 110-115 degrees today.
And people wonder why my bike sits all summer down here...

I may live to regret this, but I wrapped the wires and ran them inside the shock spring, left some slack up top, and then under the seat. Its well hidden, just hope I don't tear it loose on a speed bump or something. I don't think it will though.
Anyway, now I'm legal....
