OoooWwwwww

I hope they bring the 400 Rebel back.   I had a 250 and they slow-down going  up hill .

Best I remember the Savage and 250 Rebel  handle just about the same .

Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

They are cute little toy motorcycles. But my 1963 kick only Honda 250 twin gets better mileage, makes more power. And is a real vintage bike, kind of a miniature BSA...

They need to bring back the 450 Rebel. Tubeless wire spoke wheels, 6 speed transmission, two real carbs, decent brakes... oh, comfortable and doesn't require the addition of a JATO pack to get out of it's own way.

Rebel 250 engine was insufficient in the old Twin Stars. Now if honda would get smart and resurrect the CB/CL series 250 engine and put IT in that chassis...

I had a 2002 Suzuki Marauder GZ250 and a 2008 Honda Rebel CMX250. Handling was identical, but you could never find neutral in the Rebel. Apparently it's a 'character' trait.

The Rebel was peppier, but I liked the Suzuki better better because it had an oil filter - Rebel doesn't, and the front signals are daytime running lights. No such thing on the Rebel.

Now I have an S40, and I think I'm finally at peace.

A used one is a cheap base for a nice looking bobber to cruise around town.

We had a really nice one at the last shop I worked at. I test rode/demo'd it a couple times for the lookyloos. I had to sit BEHIND the pillion.

Savage is my around town for fun beater. Saving up for a nice used 1500 Kawi for my next road bike. Although, I'd settle for an 800A or Drifter. Savage is just too small for real rides anymore. CL250 Scrambler/tracker is my "try to break it in half" toy.

Yunno',.... if they bumped that Rebel up to a 650 and made it a thumper... and then gave it a belt drive...
Hmmm?....

They just might have something... Huh...

I sold my GZ250 a few months ago. no need for three bikes. From an ergonomic perspective, The GZ is more comfortable than the savage and handled well for a 250. I put some reversed 4"risers and a sport bar on  it and the reach was perfect. I was tempted to try to mod the 650 to the GZ but reality set in and I bought the Vulcan 800A and kept the s40.  The GZ was a hoot and ran well, but just too slow for around these parts...

I'm tempted to put a belt drive on the Vulcan since the S40's system is wonderful.

The belt conversion for the 800s is a bad idea. Front pulley is too small. I used to belong to a HUGE Kawasaki forum that I think has since gone away. Several of the 800 owners made the conversion, then switched back to chain. If the chain is having issues, upgrade to a Tsubaki.
