So I think I have it figured out. My idle adjust screw ( the one next to throttle body, not air mixture) was backed all the way out. I was having to use the choke out when starting, which I never did before, as it is NOT cold here. Ever.
So I adjusted it correctly and now it idles fine and doesn't hesitate or pop when decelerating.
Is this because when it was backed off, when I close the throttle, the body closes completely, causing a really slow idle when slowing in gear. Cause it felt as though the bike was wanting to die. I drove it today and it seems fine.
