Need Help in installing rear signal assembly
06/28/11 at 11:46:08

Hi folks,  I need your help.

I have a 2007 Boulevard S40.  The seat is off, I have the rear signal assembly and I don't know what to do from there.  Should I just pull the black rubber completely out than snake the new one in?  Then, where do I connect it?  So many wires and so little experience.  I have the manual but that doesn't help me.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Karen

Just trace where the stock ones go, and run your new wires the same way...
I don't know what the black rubber is that you're talking about... Sorry...

If your new ones are LED,.. you'll have to replace your stock flasher relay with an electronically triggered one...  or they'll blink really fast...

If youre ditchin the stock signal, get it loose & cut the wire, tie a string on it, & pull the wire in & drag the string in & then tie that string to the new wire & keep on draggin it in. I learned that when I removed a REmote control mirror from the passenger side of a car & then went to trying to get the cables run back under the dash,,, OHHH wadda pain!

If youre not ditchin the signal,, tie onto the wire where you disconnect it, drag the string thru as you remove the signal, its easy, either way,,

Thanks Serowbot and Justin.  I think the black wire attached to the broken light is what Justin mentioned.  I was concerned that pulling it out would mess up the other light.

I'm going to tie a string on the wire and pull it up so I can trace it to the right connector.

Thanks Guys, I'll let you know how it goes.
