I expect you have carriage bolts on a U clamp. Should b no problem getting one matched up.

OEM engine guard? Gee, I wish I had one of them last week, when I hit that big rock. Where can one get ahold of such a thing? If they are OEM, shouldn't there be one on the bike already? Anyone have a pic?
"engine guard" is more wishful thinking than actual description. Great place to hang pegs, but not a lot of good for protection. But, better than nothing.
Some pics of mine are on this page. Covered wagon shots.

You have the same grips as I do. I was curious about those pegs they look great.

I use Kuryakyn Longhorn Offset Highway Pegs w/ 1" Clamp (PN 7980)
http://www.kuryakyn.com/Products/460/Longhorn-Offset-Dually-Highway-Pegs
Kinda expensive, but they give that extra 4" of offset so you can stretch the leg a bit.
Don't the pegs droop because of the angle of the engine guard?

Not really. First off, the angle is almost vertical where the pegs mount. Also, the mounts are adjustable every which way.

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut between the seat and the handlebars. Make sure yours isn't too tight or too loose.

I also use the I use Kuryakyn Longhorn Offset Highway Pegs w/ 1" Clamp (PN 7980). They can be adjusted just about any angle that is comfortable. On the log stretches of Florida roads, they really help. One of the best investments you can make.

I have these pretty simple o-ring pegs, they can be found fairly cheap ($25-30) online, I got them from another member here. I use them quite a bit.

The bolts are to the front of the bike. I cant see them the brackets have an over hang and you cant see them. My Ubolts were covered by black shrinking stuff you cover wires with and a peice if duct tape where the bracket hits the frame so no damage happens to the frame if there shold be a vibration

Kristen Ann...from photobucket, right click on the pic you want to post--when the box pops up, go to the bottom and click on "copy". That puts it on your clipboard. Then go to where you're posting here...right click where the curser is and click on "paste". That puts the pic in your post. Hope this helps.

Question one: If they are OE shouldn't the bike have them? To me OEM means that Suzuki built them or licensed them. Question two: Ejid Something about the "U Bolt". Ride to a hardware store and ask for a U Bolt, probably from 1/4" stock. All the stores around here let you take things outside to check the fit, or the sales person can measure the size in length, distance between the legs, and diameter of the bolt. The whole thing should be around $3.
BTW, my OE guard cost $95 at the dealer. I keep a book on most of what I buy or do to the Savage, so I can tell you what things should cost. I hope my wife doesn't find that book.

OEM-Original equipment manufacturer. I bought it from suzuki after I got the bike. It's not an aftermarket part. Is that what you mean Boofer or am I misunderstanding the question?

Drums asked if they should already be on the bike since they are OEM. Strictly speaking, he may be right, but I consider anything to be OEM if it is made for our bike by Suzuki or a manufacturer licensed by them to build it for our bike. Kuryarkyn is not OEM; it is aftermarket. jmo

What is that mounted on the center of your handlebars?
