Let it sit a couple years and it will quit working all by itself... Cheesy piece of crap, mine looks great but is rusted up solid.

Time to break out the angle grinder and welder, one more useless bit of stock decor can hit the melt pile...

Nobody is likely to steal a Savage anyway, not much demand for them stateside. Europe on the other hand... what is it with Germans and Savages/Drifters? Sheesh...

I used to before I placed the fork brace on.
The brace seems to pervent the handlebars
from turning tight enough for me to lock the
forks. I don't even worry about it anymore. Smiley kim

I live in an area where thieves will break your car window to steal the cigarettes you left on your seat, so yes, I use my fork lock. If they want it, they have to work for it.

I don't use the fork lock,...
At night,.. I put a bicycle U-lock w/ a braided cable leash,.. mostly as a visual deterrent...
I don't want a couple of 14 yr old hooligans to run off with it, and with the fork locked, they'd try, and end up dropping it...
The visible U-lock tells them no...
Wink...

I use the fork lock when mine is the only bike parked there (people seem less likely to act stupid when they think a bunch of bikers are near) and at night. At night I chain it up with crypto cable too.

I don't use mine either, but I can see those who have more reason to do so.  Should have made a voting poll on this question.

I've also wondered how many people leave their helmet on the bike (locked or unlocked) or carry it inside a store, etc.

Depends on where I am.... in the public parking lot of a store, I lock it to the bike, but otherwise its perched over the backrest.
