Handlebar / Throttle Plastic End-Cap?
06/27/11 at 13:36:12

Hey Guys,

Took my first spill this morning riding to work in the rain.  Embarrassed

Only my second time riding in wet weather.

Coming to a stop at a red light, I think it was a combo of slick roads, not having the bike lined up exactly straight, pulling the brakes too hard and most importantly needing new tires (treads are pretty worn)...rear wheel skidded out, lost control and went down low side at about 15 mph--slid about 20 ft.  Right side peg rubber got shred a bit on the bottom, end cap of the throttle busted and right mirror bent... no other visible damage.  Luckily I was wearing full gear and the wet pavement was like a slip n' slide.  Unfortunately my ankle got pressed against the exhaust for a couple secs and now i have a nice 2nd degree burn.  Got lucky though.

Anyway, was wondering where I can find small pieces and parts, such as my now busted faux-chromed plastic end-cap.  Seems trivial, but its something that makes a big impact on the aesthetics of the bike.  I checked ebay...anybody know a good provider of stuff like this?

Thanks  Smiley

Ace Hardware.  I paid, I think around $1.25 for four of these caps.  They are 1" and fit perfectly.

Perfect excuse to get comfortable grips...

I used the stock end caps as BB gun targets with the neighbor's nephew, teaching him to shoot. Easier to clean up than beer bottles.

That is the stock Suzuki windscreen for the Savage.  I think that it was about $130.

I was missing one also. I found one at my dealer. He had one laying around the shop--gave it to me no charge. It was a little loose so I used some gasket goo to glue it on. (Taped over for 1 week to allow for total dry time) Worked pretty good. Looks OE.

Somebody once posted a link to some on Ebay, but I can't seem to find it right now.  They were like $4.95 a set.  Might do some searching on your own...
