Route 66 Pirelle  The highest rated tire for handling and ride at a reasonable price.

I just put on a set of Route 66.
Decided to give them a try because of the reviews and lower cost.  (Rear $97 vs $147 for Metzler (at least this time around))

So far, not impressed with the handling.  It's OK, but nothing like the Metzler.
I don't hate 'em enough to pull them off (and I am way to cheap for that), but I really doubt I will be buying them again.  I'll fork over the extra bucks for the Metzler.  Besides, I want to see how long the Perelli's last.

Maybe I just need to get used to them.

I have Pirelli's...I love 'em but I can only compare tham to the crappy IRC's that were on it.

Crappy IRCs ?
My '07 rear is slick at 6,000+ miles, and I don't see any checking.
Not exactly crappy in my book !
Front will go a long time yet.

My stock rear made 5,000, was cupped & had always felt greasy in a turn. Front made 8,000,, & was cupping.

Bought mine with 7K and the back IRC was bald...the front felt like I was riding over banana peels... Smiley

Never felt sure footed enough to scrape the pegs until I got a pair of Metzlers. Just sayin'.  Cool

I just got a Shinko front tire, mine was dry rotted to hell. Tire was $65, labor was $30, total with tax was $99.70, piece of mind about it not blowing PRICELESS.
