Exhaust wrap- I know it's been done 2 death but...

It's been done to death, but not by me  Smiley
I had to do it. I got a HD muffler and put it on at the same time. I'm feeling a little bit of air where it connects. I think I need a more heavy duty clamp. I know, I know, the guard needs to go....

Anyway, I have a tank that's about to get painted in the next few weeks, and I'm looking at trailer fenders at Northern. Or I may rip Skeebo's killer fender cut! Either way the plate will move when the fender goes. Then there is the seat....

BTW, the verdict on the HD muffler -- its a lot quieter than I expected. Its deeper now, but not really louder (to me). It's a pretty nice sound though.

Not bad. Now ditch the old joint cover and swing by Tractor Supply. Get a wide stainless strap clamp for a tractor exhaust. Kills the leak and smooths everything out.

When they say they carry everything you need, they almost aren't kidding (don't sell guns/ammo)... Sad

The bearing supply house in Longview sells those clamps. Loads less $$$ than TRactor Soupline. Ask for a t-bolt clamp.

Google T-bolt clamp..

3-4 inches I think. I just let the leak stay on mine, makes for better backfires. When the refurb is done I'll put the clamp on mine too.

No, you need to use the front mount from the kit and fab up a rear mount. Discard the front u-bolt and bolt the clamp directly to your stock tank/seat mounting bracket holes, over the tank rear piece.

xactly....I had this seat (or one like it ) in mind when building my rear fender. The shelf I frenched in gives me mounting options.

Finally found a stainless exhaust clamp today and finished up the muffler/wrap.

My nearest Tractor Supply did not have the clamp after all. I ran all over the place and finally found one at NAPA. It definitely looks "finished" with it.

That looks perfect man, I'm runni'n the same muffler, I like it alot. The wrap is on the list for me, is that a 50' roll or was 25' enough.

Looks great.  I'm running the same muffler and that's the exact clamp I've been looking for.  Did you shim anything in between the muffler and header for a tighter fit or is the clamp enough to seal it up?  Right now I'm running an automotive U-clamp and an assload of RTV which works but looks like crap.
