Web Camshaft

I'm pulling the trigger on the Web camshaft (I just can't get myself to say web cam lol-feel like some kind of weirdo). The rest of the motor internals is planned to be stock. I haven't found out if I need valve relief cuts in the piston however. Anyone know? What's the experience with this cam? This is going into a Ryca with their air filter and muffler so I will be starting with their recommended jet, although I think I will probably need to take it to the next step because of the larger amount of air flow through the head. Also, with the same CR, the stock spark plug should likely be fine right?

Any suggestions and experience on head porting?

You do not need valve cuts on the piston dome for a stock piston with ANY Web cam, included the dreaded Stage II cam.

If you go with a high compression piston, you get closer (but it has been done by Lancer -- direct your questions there)

Sweet! I'm tossing the clay in the garbage! More like the idea. Thanks for the direct answer!

Out of curiosity, what is the highest compression someone has run in the LS650?

If you do hop up your bike Klotz makes a breakin oil,I would use that then stick with Klotz a high performance oil.Other people on here seem to have had trouble once they hopped it up.

The Wiseco big bore pistons (actually early DR650 pistons) are higher compression and are relieved for valve clearance, whether it's necessary or not.

How much is that slug? Do you have to modify the head gasket for that bore size whatever it is?

So tempting...but for only about 25cc 14cc(!)  more and less gas mileage and no need to change the piston, I'm forcing myself to pass. Just gotta remind myself I'm only getting the bump stick because its the same price as a new stock one. I'm supposed to be maintaining 60mpg if at all possible.
