Need help installing new rear turn signals
06/13/11 at 10:30:33

Ok, so I got my new rear turn signals that are OEM.. I cant figure out where these go:

Do I need to take this bar off? I took off the nuts to try and remove it but it still isn't coming off. EDIT: found the nut under and inside the fender.

yep, take the side rail off, the wiring goes in clips on the backside.

then just follow the wires and route the new ones the same.

Yeah thanks, I got the sidebar off.. I still can't figure out where the connecters are. They aren't housed inside like I though and the official Suzuki diagram of the stock turn signals doesn't show anything useful.

The connectors are under the seat, they route between the frame and fender.

Oh.. well the new turn signals aren't going to be long enough. Any suggestions where I can get an extension?

cut the old signal wires and splice them in.

Just replaced mine too but I put little bullets on with a ton of wire to spare. Funny that the oems are short?

WAIT!

don't splice! Don't splice!

Don't cut the stock factory harness on the bike!

Instead cut the factory turn signal wires! Install matching butt connecters(male ends) on signal wires add ALL kinds off different signals until you heart is content.

Plus sides:
Never have to cut and splice another set of signals again (most have butt connecters)
Save your factory harness from the butcher
Option to return to stock
And many more reasons.

Down sides:
You have 4 MORE (ugly)butt connecter hiding some where!

I'm sure a few more in either direction but preserving the factory (expensive, hard to find) harness should out weigh most negatives.
