belt tension

I saw it somewhere but I can't find it again.  How do I tell if my belt is tensioned properly.  I do not have the factory tool kit nor the little tension measuring doohickie? Embarrassed

twist it with your fingers...if it rotates 90 degrees you're good

Get the rear wheel aligned to the swingarm. Set the tension so that you can grab the belt & twist it 90* 1/2 way between the pulleys. You shuldnt need to be a weight lifter,

Mine squeaks anyway, so I use canning wax on the belt.

i use silicone spray..
the squeek is weather sensitive
