I'm looking for new rear turn signals
06/07/11 at 15:28:37

Hi, I'm new to this forum so I hope I'm not intruding. I just bought my first 2005 Suzuki Boulevard S40 and both of the rear turn signals have broken housing (I have them duck taped to hold them up). I'm looking for either some replacement signals (not the stock ones because new they are around $100) or something I can mount to the fender but I'm having trouble finding anything for the bike.

Any suggestions or links to sites that sell rear turn signals to fit the bike would be great!  Smiley

Virginia.. the local Suzuki dealer doesn't carry any in stock and their parts shipments seem to be a bit slow. I need them overnighted I'm sick of this duct tape lol.

Cycle Gear or most any other independent shop can order whatever you like. Bike Master brand replacements should be around $30 each. If not, order ones for a VN800, S50, or go custom.

I like cheapy 50s style bullet lights, $10 a piece at any indy HD shop. For that matter, lots of truck stops have them too...

WD can you give me a pic of what the cheapy $10 bullet style ones look like, or a name so I can find a website selling them? This is a my first bike so this is kind of confusing, but I can roll with the $10 ones for now... other than that I might just take off the stock ones that are broken and mount these to the fender:

This may be a good time to relocate them. Alot of members here have done that so they could carry larger saddle bags. Here are a couple links to show some options. And a couple pics of how I did mine using a piece of steel bar bent on both ends and drilled.

ALfromN.H. that is a sweet setup.. that's kind of why I wanted to mount the rear turn signals on the fender, for saddles and for passengers to have room. I'm defiantly gonna check out that setup!

The ones I use are just called bullet lights...

that's how they looked on a stock fender. Been awhile since the bike was that plain.

Hey WD, what did you do on the top of the fender in that pic? I wouldn't mind a closer look at that.

+1 on these.  I have them on the rear (kept the stock ones on the front).  This seller used to sell pairs, so if you only want 2, check his other auctions.  I think I got 2 for $12.95.  Can't beat the price and they are surprisingly nice, heavy chromed metal, not plastic.  I think several of us have these now...

i have those too. I don't know if i'd say"heavy' metal, but they are some variety of steel, not chromed plastic.

If i remember right I had to switch to other bulbs to make them blink correctly.  (I have both filaments blinking )
i also had a little troble with water getting into the housing - shorting and rusting- a little silicone sealant seems to have fixed that.

i also mounted them from the license plate bracket due to saddle bag clearance.

if you're up to a little "low level" modding, you can easily make them work.

If you're looking for something that "fits" as in "mounts the same as the stock ones" ... I think you'll jhave to go with OEm replacements
