Ryca build Progressive shock question
06/02/11 at 21:19:22

I've received my final batch of Ryca parts, including the optional Progressive shocks.  As I'm going to be using the brake light/license plate combo, Ryca suggests installing travel limiters (supplied) on the shocks.  In order to install the limiters, the shocks first need to be disassembled enough to be able to remove the springs.  I've not disassembled a shock before -- any suggestions?  Thanks.

The folks at Ryca have been very responsive to my question, even trivial ones. So you might email them for instructions.

might also consider dropping progessive a line, or check their website. I would be willing to bet they have a tech section that covers the 440 series shocks.

thanks guys.  both ryca and progressive were helpful.  it's probably possible to insert the pieces of the limiters between the spring coils and get away without dismantling the shock, but i've ordered a progressive shock tool to make disassembly easy.
