Header gasket

I removed the header recently to wrap it and the old gasket was no good. Is the make your own gasket stuff at autozone reliable enough or should I just order an oem gasket? Thanks

The gasket is about 1/8" to 3/16" thick and, I think, designed to collapse a bit when tightened. It would be a good trick to cut a ring that narrow and precise.

Id buy one. Ive seen them, understand how they work, crushing to fit. I know how much hassle it'd be to make one..& to see it fail & need replaced.. this isnt the place to invest ones time to save 4 bux.. or even 24 bux,, Id buy it,,
