so you think I should gamble the $25 and try a new coil before I try a CDI box?

couldnt I hook up a 3rd party coil to the wires and see if it buzzes as well?

just to verify that it isnt my CDI box that makin her hum?

coil cheap
CDI expensive
3rd party coil may damage it.

I think Ill buy a coil and get it priority shipped to me so I can test it. if not, its off to a CDI box.

what year are all these electricals identical?

Next time youve got a meter connected to something "Fiddly" & you want to swap leads, instead of messing with the end on what youre measuring, you can swap in the meter. That way you keep the connections at the item being tested unmolested& that way you dont unintentionally alter the connections & change the reading inadvertently.
