Black wire, bottom right corner, red wire, one hole up, turn dial to the Ohms section, lower left of the dial, surrounded by a thin green line. You decide what range by what youre gonna read. I you expect to see 10, ooo ohms, you need to set it on the 20 K, but it wont hurt a thing if you go to 2000k (2,000 K = 2,000,000 ohm = 2 meg ohms) . Just play with it. as long as here is No POwer to what you are measuring, ya cant really mess up too bad, just steer clear of messing with reading on items still installed in circuits. That can confuse the daylites out of ya. Unless the item to be tested is out of the circuit on at least on end, you cant know youre not seeing continuity in a parallel section of the circuit, well,, unless you have a schematic of the circuit youre troubleshooting..
OHH, & measuring Ohms really doesnt require getting the polarity with th wires "right".. but, itll make someone who hasnt done this a lot more comfortable.. ..
