Tire shine?

What is safe for shining my black walls? All the car products are unsafe on motorcycles.

I use some dollar store tire shine on mine once in a while, and on bikes when I sell them...  on sidewalls only, not on tread...
I don't think it works like ArmorAll... but, I don't put it on tread anyway...

If you ride in the rain it could run down in the tread I would use whitewall cleaner to make them look better.

I have used Bleche White for years, but I am concerned about getting caught in the rain. I usually don't ride in the rain on purpose. BTW I use Armor All on my seat with no problems. I think the memory foam forms around me so I don't slide. Thanks

There is a product called "Rubber Renue" from MG Chemicals. What it does is remove oxidized rubber. It does not add shine or slipperiness - it takes off a thin layer of rubber, which makes it look new. It is used to rejuvenate drive belts in turntables and tape decks. I have used it to remove scuffs on car tires, but have not used it for cosmetic purposes. It comes in 100ml bottles.
For you chemists out there it says on the bottle "contains dimenthylenzene CAS# 1330-20-7, methylsalicate CAS# 119-36-8". For a job as big as a tire I would recommend gloves and a mask- the stuff reeks and huffing it will probably give you brain damage. Shocked

JOG2, I agree with you a lot of the time. I don't own a trailer queen, but May 14 is the annual Cancer ride for this area. Not only did the ONLY thumper there stay in position 3 of 30+ bikes it looked good doing it. Can't I shine it just once in honor of those fighting a terrible disease?

Not to hijack the thread but auto tire cleaners aren't safe for MC tires? I used armor all recently, just on the sidewalls.

ArmorAll is slicker than snot when applied to rubber...
On sidewalls it's okay,... as long as nothing washes it down onto the tread... like rain...
Try some on your seat,.. it'll turn into a Slip'n'Slide ride...

So,... careful, careful.. Wink...

The Dollar store "tire shine" that I use, seems to work differently.  It doesn't get the tire as black, but it doesn't make slicky either...
Still,... I don't put it on the tread... Nothing goes on there...

try some SuperClean. Spray it on, brush down the rubber with a plastic bristle brush. The foam will be a really gross feeling black. rinse it off and your tires will be black as night with no slip n slide.

yeah, its what Ive been using.

rather than just coating your tires in a shine that covers up dirt and debris, this actually washes the rubber.

although it IS a degreaser, it becomes very slippery when wet. so make sure you rinse it all off. ive had best results using superclean on my tires.

I like Super Clean for grease and dirt. I'll try it and give it a super rinse. Thanks
