raptor petcock install
04/18/11 at 21:11:33

i cant seem to find a DIY for replacing the stock fuel petcock with a raptor petcock.  can someone help me? do i need to remove the tank? whats the best method for draining the gas in the tank? i understand and know i have to plug the vac port on the carb.  but i just need to know the steps to replace the petcock.  yea, i am mechanically inclined, i just want to make the install with unnecessary steps.  thanks.

oh, and i heard that you can add an electric cut off switch to automatically shut off the fuel on the raptor petcock vs always having to manually turn the dial on the petcock.  how do i do that?

Disconnect fuel line at carb, stick tube in gas can, to to prime, drain...
Remove two screws and wiggle petcock out,... install Raptor, put two screws back...  block vacuum tap on carb, and connect fuel line.
Replace gas...
Ride... Wink...

... don't bother with an electric shutoff... it's just one more thing to break...

It's manual operated instead of vacuum,... and it makes tank removal easier..

Here's the part number.  I don't think it would be considered a 'quad'.  It's simply an off - on - reserve and as Scrobot said, it makes the tank a lot easier to get ott and on.  Only one hose connection. Plus it eliminates the vacuum line from the carburetor.  You do have to block off the vacuum port on the carburetor though.

Ha! Got me on that one.  Never been close to one.  Didn't even know what a Raptor was when I bought the petcock.  Besides, I was thinking carburetors.
