check the spark, pull the plug, put it against the head and turn it over, should get a good blue spark.

then check the air filter.

then you might take a look up the ol' bung hole for any obstruction.

You are indicating that when you hit the starter button, you hear the engine cranking but it doesn't fire ??? I think of the engine cranking as turning over - but not necessaruily firing.
(2) We always ask if the battery is new, or are you jumping it?
(3)   Did you check the new spark plug and look to see if it was firing when you hit the starter button?  I only mention these items as everyone else is quite properly focused on the fuel supply, so I thought I'd mention the spark side.  Good luck and keep us posted.
