Just wondering what oil is good for the forks. Putting in new seals and was curious what oil to use back in them.

I used 15w myself.
Some have said they use a mixture of oil and ATF to get a lighter wt so I'm not sure of the viscosity rating of ATF.

I believe Dextron II is about 7-1/2 weight. The old dextron for Fords was a little lighter, maybe 6-1/2 weight. A friend used to use it in his Honda motocrosser in the early 1980's, it was the "hot" setup for the old CR's. On the street I usually want something a little thicker, so i'll start with 15 weight when I get my Savage going on the street.
