Just wanted to post some pics of my repainted recently aquired 1996 savage. Please forgive the photos of my kids playing on daddy's bike. The bike started out a badly faded red and I'm pretty pleased with the repaint. Any and all suggestions are or comments are welcome. I a power sander to strip the original parts down to the bare metal and followed that with several coats of automotive primer. The color used was rustoleum metallic cobalt blue, and the pictures can't begin to do the color or amount of flake in this paint justice. I finished off with three coats of rustoleum automotive clear followed by wet sanding and power buffing. Fairly pleased with the results especially considering the cost of doing the painting.
