87 savage popping and won't idle

I have a 87 savage that has been sitting up for a few years. I took the tank and carb off and cleaned them both. Still won't run right. Any suggestions?

Hey Jimmymack, nice to meet you. Introduce yourself, tell us a bit about your bike and like V said, what are the symptoms?   Cool

Well I have never been a bike guy but my wife has this old bike in the garage just sitting so I figure I might as well get it running and enjoy it a bit. I can get it run but it pops and backfires. Once it gets warmed up good it doesn't want to idle. I want to get some good advice before I start trying anything or spending money on it. Anything you can guys can do to help me out I would greatly appreciate.

Like someone said... let's do the easy stuff 1st.

http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?board=tech;action=display;num=1098869040

make sure the carb is setup correctly... hoses in the right place.
Many times someone will take apart and not put back the same way.

next replace the vac line.

And a little seafoam in the tank.

popping tells me it's lean, running rough tells me you don't have the vacuum line on.
