Posts: 46 Clermont, FL Gender:	decomp controller 03/23/11 at 11:46:23 will the decomp controller is bad will it not let the starter work? i hit the starter switch and i here a click in the decomp controller box but no starter work. i shook the controller box and there is a rattling inside this cant be good huh? i jumped the starter solenoid and the bile started. thank you

The loud click is the decomp working,... that is normal.

being that you pushed the button and heard a click, starter button should be ok, but wouldn't hurt to clean.

otherwise, you have a bad starter relay.
sometime these stick. push the button, give the fender a sharp rap in the general vicinity of the relay. might knock it free.
