Okay so here's an update. Ordered the BCB kit on a Tuesday, it was shipped on Saturday, and arrived at my house on Monday afternoon! So I watched the 2 hour DVD that was included in the kit to get a feel for what I was in for. Not too bad, some electrical stuff needed to be rewound and watched a few times. Tonight, Tuesday, I decided to get started with the tear down of the bike, here are some pics of that process (not that most of you haven't done this before and know what your bike looks like naked).
Here she is stock
The DVD included in the kit was extremely detailed. I have not had to refer to the Clymer manual once so far! For those of you that don't have one, I highly recommend one of these magnetic parts holders. It's got rubber covered magnets on it so it won't mar whatever it's attached to and it was a life saver tonight.
Here she is with the tank and exhaust removed
My neatly organized work area (note all the tricks I've learned from this site, the ziploc bags, laid out cleanly, the PBR).
This is the seat I ordered from BCB, the quality on this is awesome!
Here are the tins, all ready to go to the painter first thing tomorrow morning. Note the BCB rear fender in there. Regardless of what their website says, this is a very solid steel fender NOT fiberglass.
Thats all for tonight. I've gotta get some rest. Any suggestions on paint would be highly appreciated, I'm thinking either a traditional flat black, white or dark hunter green. What do you all think?
Until next time.........
