New tires this spring, which ones to get?
03/17/11 at 18:48:32
Hi folks!
I have clocked about 7300 miles as of last autumn, and I am looking forward to getting the bike ready for the new season.
I am uncomfortable with the stock rear tire at this point and I am thinking of getting a Dunlop D404 140/90 15.
What size do you suggest for the front
? I don't think it needs to be replaced yet, but I am considering changing them both at the same time.
I thought that this had been covered before, but I didn't turn up much in the search. I expected to find some sort of listing with part numbers similar to the documentation for a Big Crank as a replacement battery (for example).
Thanks for your input!

yeah 100/90-19. i accidently got 110/90-19 last time - it fit on, but i had to move the fender up a little to clear the larger tire

Hey, thanks!
Would I have to worry about the odometer or speedometer being off (more)?

What about Inner Tubes? They have some IRC ones for around $14 each, do I need to be concerned with any different types of tubes?
Thanks for your replies!

Sounds good, but I would recommend one with a 90
o
bend for the rear. And be sure they install it facing away from the belt in order to make checking/airing up the tire easier.
