MB, they make shorty levers for full sized bikes to be operated by two fingers only. Thinking of a set myself.
The kids levers for dirt bikes are designed slightly different, less outward curve for smaller hands. When i say kids im not talking toys bikes for 10 year olds...lol Its all in the design for leverage. Just like in a pistol grip.

They do make levers that have a bend in them to get closer to the bar.
BUT, the Savage/S40 has a fairly light pull for the size engine. To do this Suzuki made it a long throw clutch. That means, the distance from "starting to disengage" to "fully disengaged" is a longer that other bikes.
My recommendation is to first adjust the clutch so that when releasing it, it starts to grab when the lever is about 1/2 inch from the grip. I normally tell people to do it as 3/4 to 1 inch but you can go closer. What will happen is that you'll get a bit more slop/looseness in the lever/cable when it's fully released.
If that doesn't help, then start to spend money. Do the free stuff first.....
NOTE: for others, if the adjustment is set to "grab" further out than 1 inch, you might get some slipping in high gear and WOT, when the clutch plates start to get some mileage on them.
