as long as I have all this extra time waiting for the kit, I sent some more parts to the powder coater. Trying to make everything I can black. Might decide to do the forks black too. For now I did the rear brake drum cover, the front brake rotor, the turn signal brackets, the headlight bucket, and the rear hub thingy that bolts on to the belt sprocket in the back.

headlight bucket is painted. Its an interesting thing- I was planning on sanding the chrome down a little bit so the paint stuck. I noticed there was a little bubble in the chrome on the back of it before I even sanded it. I took a razor blade and poked the bubble and then proceeded to simply peel off the entire chrome backing on the bucket. It literally peeled completely off, leaving bare plastic beneath. I then painted it using satin black Krylon fusion for plastic. This paint give a great finish and it bonds with the plastic.

I received two boxes from UPS today.
In it were my fiberglass parts- all primed in white.
Also, my tank and muffler. I asked RYCA to send the muffler so that I could take it to the powder coater. Its getting coated in matte black ceramic heat resistant coating. I will wait until the rest of the kit comes before I paint.

I was surprised at how much rust is inside my tank. I don't recall it looking like that when I sent it off. Anyways, I will probably treat and coat it with Kreem tank coating system.

About Kreem... I have heard several horror stories about tank coatings. Usually you get a new batch when they reformulate the gas, and the new formula dissolves the coatings that used to work.
