Voltage regulator relocation
02/25/11 at 15:13:53

Where can I  relocate the voltage regulator too. I want to remove the rear passenger seat  and install a fender bib , I have all ready installed a solo seat and have a K&N air filter and carb mod, I no longer have the air filter box. So where can I install the regulator and still offer it some protection?

Mine is mounted right between the frame rails.Won't hurt it out in the open. They're a sealed unit.Intruders have them mounted at the bottom of the bike right above the exhaust.

Anywhere that allows the fins to get air...

Mine's under the front of the seat, (room there because of 2" seat lift)...

Actually I'm in the middle of the same project, could someone who has "dropped it into the airbox" please post some pics.  I'm wondering if/what you cut to get it in there and also did you mount it or just "leave it hanging" and did you ground it?  Thanks, any help would be much appreciated!!! Wink

Mine is exactly where they put it in the 4th post in those links above and has been there for 3 years with out a single problem. Fits perfectly in there. I drilled that bracket first then had it powder coated to keep the holes from getting rusty, and used stainless bolts as well.
