help with starter clutch gears- pics please??

I took my generator off. I am having a tough time figuring out how the starter clutch gears are installed back on there. THe clymer manual isn't all that helpful. Specifically, I can't figure out which way the starter clutch gear #2 goes on and I don't know which gear these two little washers go on. I thought it was gear #1 according to clymer manual, but then it does not look like it meshes right with gear #2. I was thinking maybe a photo of one would help. THanks.

Reply #1 - 02/17/11 at 08:34:30 I beleave they go on either side of the gear with 2 different sizes. If that's wrong, the starter won't turn.

You might be able to see the assembly sequence a little better.

I assembled the way it appears based on the clymer and the diagram on cheapcycleparts, but something just seems a little off. THe gears don't appear to mesh right. Was hoping to see a pic maybe off someone's bike.
