Getting close to bringing this '95 Savage back from the dead. I thought I would share some pics:

Cracked piston:

Did you get a new valve cover with the new head? They're supposed to be a matched set. The cam journals are drilled with the two pieces together -- and aren't necessarily in the exact same place set to set.

no, could only get the head without the cover. I guess that's why it was so cheap ($60). However, everything seems okay.

I used some 1/8" flat plate and had my buddy weld some threaded bolts to it. I then attached the metal plate across the frame rails.

Wow, you've come a long way.  Looking great!  I love the z-bars.  Did you do the paint yourself?  

And by the way, did you hear about the guy that died while rappelling in a waterfall over your way?  He was the son of my husband's boss.  Awful tragedy.

yup, had to do some light body work and used some rattlecan auto primer, paint, and clearcoat,

No, didn't hear about the accident. Sorry for your loss.
