Bobber Fenders?

So, for all those working on a project or riding a completed Bobber, what was your choice for a rear fender and why?  I'm looking to go that route, and was wondering what other folks have used.

Thanks, all!

I bought an old Savage fender off of Ebay and just cut it. I did that so I could leave my stock fender original in case I ever want to put it back on.

Yeah, go on eBay and search for motorcycle fenders. Lots of possibilities, especially chrome fenders from the '70s and '80s.

I use trailer fenders. They are fairly cheap, strong. They look nostalgic.Follow the contour of the tire fairly close.

Denim, did you try the stock seat w/ the trailer fender? was wondering because thats what I want to do,don"t know if you can see the frame rails that attach the fender.w/ the stock seat. Also what size is your fender? it looks perfect.

Demin hardtailed it... if you want the fender that close to the tire, you'll have to do the same.
... or use fender struts, and have the fender unsprung...

Yeah,I have tried the stock seat on it,but there's still a gap where the back of the stock seat it notched out.I think it's a 7" wide.If I remember correctly it's part # 1263 from Northern Tool.My bike is hardtailed.I used the stock mounting bolts. If you do that, you'll have a big gap between the tire and fender.Or you could mount it to the swingarm,it'll move with the tire then.

I think I'm gonna go the Fender Strut+Swingarm Mount route.  No hardtail for me, the old bones wouldn't take it!

Hey dasch, got a pic of that GSX-R jobbie?

Edit:  So I can pick up a trailer fender for pretty cheap at a place up the road from me, the question is, what size?

Edit #2:  Never mind, I got it figured out!

Thanks again, all!
