Solo Seat mount ideas
02/02/11 at 15:40:32

I've done the searches on this topic and have my nose mount hardware picked out for my 13" solo seat. I would like to know if there are some ideas from some fellow Bobber conversion folks on different ways to fabricate the rear spring mounts. I'm thinking that some 3" springs seem like they would work out, but would like some ideas on mounting them to the frame. I couldn't find any close ups pics on the rear mounts in any of the many Bobber conversion pics on the site. I've attached a cone filter and have most of the wiring and electronics hidden in the old air box. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Talk to Paladin, He has a really nice seat set-up. He also lives near you.

bolt a bar across the top of the frame and attach them to that.
don't bend the seat tabs down to attach them, they won't hold up.

I was thinking along those same lines. Attaching a piece of flat, maybe 1/8" bracket or plate across the top of the frame tubes. Anyone done something like that?

Here's a solution I like a lot for it's simplicity -- a piece of spring steel with one end attached to the frame and the other attached to the nose of the seat.

I used a piece of flat stock.I think around 1/8" drilled it to match the fender bolt holes and drilled it to match the seat.Bolt on.The front mount bolted right to the original seat/gastank mounting holes.
WARNING... SUPER LARGE PIC.
