These comments all seem pretty realistic...
Figure, high 40's to low 60's, average... You might get a bit more or less with extreme riding... Anything much further out, and something's wrong... Engine mods can help or hurt, depending... Weight, can add or take away a few... ... switching to chain, with higher gearing, can add a few highway, and loose a few in traffic...
If you really want more power, get a bigger bike... ... and if you really want more mileage, get a smaller one... You can tweak a little one way or the other... but you can't make a donkey into a thoroughbred, or visa-versa... What we have,... is a quarter horse... Quick but not fast,... thrifty but not cheap...
Just switching to a slightly taller rear tire can make a 5% difference... ... if you push it to 10%,... with tires, gearing, jetting, or whatever,... you change the character of the bike completely... ...might as well have bought a Virago 250 or a Ninja 650...
