So my brother recently decided to try his hand at leather working and made himself a pretty badass looking seat. It's a straight razor with cobwebs in it.

( a little help please with the pics, sorry I can't seem to figure that out Sad

I'm not sure the leather he used, but I think the woman at the Tandy is the one that recommended what he should use. I would suggest doing the same thing. I'll have to ask him what type of foam he used though.

I really like the stitching on his too, but he didn't do it on mine because he was putting that skirt on the bike to hide the wiring and springs and such. yes it's carved it, all done by hand. I guess he drew the picture, taped it over the leather and then used something(not sure what) to trace over his drawing and it leaves a dent in the leather, and then you just go from there. Good call on that gel seat, i should have had him add that to mine. I guess the leather he used on his own is super stiff and so it's pretty solid and he doesn't have much padding.
