How many turns out on the idle mixture screw are you?

Having trouble keeping an idle even with the choke on through the entire range of the screw.

How does it run when you give it a twist?
Had it on the road yet?

I think I already owe him lunch for all the guidance he has given during this project.

The bike runs good as long as I'm on the throttle a bit past idle. I think I need to make another carb adjustment. I still haven't got it on the road. I need to get the back tire off, as I don't have the spacer in the axle correctly. I think I will break down and purchase a MC jack.

You may just need to up the pilot jet like you think.
but make sure you're not trying to idle too slow.

axle spacers... left side is fat, right side skinny.  As in big around.  The left side fits into a seal.  Obvious if it's the wrong size.
