That's why Lucas oil is better for drilling, it lets that wear edge get right on through as it instantly breaks down to 1/2 weight or less .....

I use the drippin' from my oil change bottles as lubricant when I machine or drill.  Used to use RotSyn, but now that I'm using Klotz my drills last 10x longer and they cut thru steel like butter.

That's because with Klotz,.. it's physically impossible for them to ever wear out...
... problem is,.. it's also physically impossible for them to cut into the metal that you want to drill...
Zero wear...      zero...
...that metal is Klotz protected... Huh...

Then we actually could make everything on the bike out of aluminum, if it makes zero wear on metal. Would save a bunch of weight.

Problem is if you use Klotz, you gotta change your oil first thing every spring and then not ride it any for the rest of the year
(ya gotta read the fine print under them "Zero Wear" warranty requirements to get the full story)

So the fact that it makes a better cutting oil don't bother you?

Yes, it bothers me... it's against the laws of Klotz physics...

How can one metal cut another with zero friction?... Impossible!...

Versy,.. you're just gonna' have to throw those Klotz contaminated bits away...
You'll never get it off... it's molecularly bonded... (the spot on the piece of metal that the bit touched, will never be drillable either)...

He could try to counter that contradictory red Klotz pixie magic with a quick dunkin' of Lucas, then the Klotz pixie magic would only be half as powerful as before -- or mebbe he could completely undo it by using Lucas Oil Treatment Concentrate a couple of times in a row all quick like ...

I liked the way them Bob's boys went a'digging into the Lucas web page proofs deep enough to find that the Lucas MSDS sheets actually say the base oil in "synthetic" Lucas isn't even a synthetic oil at all -- I liked that, I did.   Group II is just a well refined oil, not anything legally synthetic at all.

That wuz some prime oil warring, it wuz.

To be a full synthetic, it must have a molecule that is chemically created, by catalyticization  and/or recombination to make a single uniform oil molecule.   Chemically created, not refined from crude like Lucas.

No wonder Lucas "sheared in half" weight wise when put to the test in a motorcycle engine.

And did you notice that they suggested the guy use Shell Helix oils because he was located in England?   Shell Helix Ultra uses the same base synthetic oil as (drum roll please) Rotella T6 the same stuff whut we can all buy at our local Walmarts fer $5 a quart instead of paying $7-8 bux a quart fer faked out (really dino based) sorry type oil like Lucas motorcycle oil.

If you want to drill with Klotz you will need and additive to roughen  it up some,I use RotellaT6 about 1 ounce to quart of Klotz.

NOTE:   that Bill admits to using Rotella T6 as a booster additive to his Klotz oil, reason he gas given is to toughen or roughen it up some.

Let a new oil war rage on, like a blazing fire in the night, blood for oil, but which oil is right?

Buster, if you spend $30-50 for a Blackstone Labs Virgin Oil Analysis you will be the first one on this list to ever do so.

Most of us just type "bobistheoilguy.com: VOA Lucas 20w50" into your Google search bar and get it for free.    Search turns up the data and an oil war, but this nugget is what pops up as item #1 from the Google search.

Motor Oil Wear Test Results – Caution, VERY long • Speed Talk
3 days ago ... do a voa on lucas oils and see for yourself the lame additive package this oil has! ! go to www.bobistheoilguy.com .... Penn, although its hard to tell because I run 20w50 or straight 50 and you didn't test much of that weight.

We got some people saying Lucas synthetic isn't really synthetic at all and all of them say it is a so-so oil packaged with some overblown claims.

Now, if this rankles your feathers some, feel free to go find some bad dirt on Klotz or Amisol or Rotella.

Or trot out some third party supporting evidence that Lucas is a superior oil.   Just remember to always say where you got it from so we can go read it directly.

Here is a quick link to the motorcycle oil tests just to get you started good.

Hell, if I'm gonna be helpful, I might as well give you some good shoot'n ammunition.

Didn't say which way the bullets would fly, jest that "here's some good bullets fer to be shoot'n".

Here is your Lucas "synthetic" VOA compared to a similar weight of Rotella T6

http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=25668...

(time to read, digest, search for rebuttal information)

=============================

http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=24057...

Here is a used oil UOA from a Rotella bike that had some fuel problems that prompted the oil check -- and the 3,500+ mile fuel contaminated Rotella T6 UOA beats yer Lucas brand new in the bottle VOA right handily.

Now, oil war churned earth and all aside ....

Lucas oil products swing a big profit margin for Lucas and the distributors, so much so they support all sorts of racing this and that off of the excess profits.

Walmart sells T6 for $22 a gallon in the big blue jug.  That's $5.50 a quart bought right at your local Walmart.

Lucas motorcycle sells for what???    $6.71 a quart plus shipping?

I can get VOA/UOA done where I work for about $10 - Only reason I thought about having it done. Thanks for the links and info, BTW.

So, how much are you going to put in with the standard Lucas oil to get exactly what recommended PPM level?

I notice they freely admit you have to add ounces of this booster stuff just to get up to the ZDDP level that is native to the Rotella products ....  this kinda proves out what the VOAs upthread were saying.

Grin    Grin    Grin

So, how much did your whole Lucas oil change cost you for the Lucas oil and the required Lucas booster?
