Chop a Savage ?

Browsing the web late last night and came across this site. Easy bolt on kits available and relatively inexpensive. Gives the Savage a radical look. Check out the Suzuki section for several pics.

If I take a pogo stick & bounce it on its end, straight up & down, I collapse the stick & it extends & bounces up. If I swing it like a bat at a tree, I just bend it. I figure at about 45 degrees, the Compression Vs Bend forces working on the forks is getting close to 50/50, wouldnt you think? If I was gonna go out very far at all, Id really want a springer or some kinda suspension other than tube in tube.

I agree, that looks very weak as is. Another reason I dislike choppers.

Why do they call it "chopping", when they are making it longer?...
I never got that... Huh...

Chopping refers to removing all un-necessary items, basically just stripping a bike down to the bare essentials.

I also agree it would be a weak point for forks alone. A Girder or Springer front would be better...however, the light weight of the Savage IMO wouldn't put too much stress on the forks provided your not bouncing through potholes and down rough roads.
Also, I think a 18 degree rake is too much. The 14 degree looks better and more stable. Either way, it sure does change the appearance of the bike.

With that front brake Yanuh it would take an air strip to stop that bugger.Correct me if I'm wrong but the front brake is the main brake ,
the rear brake is rarely used ,maybe in the rain or emergency's
If you look at all race bikes, and just fast bikes ,the front brakes are always twice the size of the rear.
Another reason I dislike choppers, they are bloody dangerious.

that is a fork rake kit
a chopper is when you "chop" some of the frame out behind the neck to rake the front forks
