Being a Month out ....... let's update and refine with new knowledge

Please supply your planned exit day if you know it already, it is nice to know this for room balancing the later arrivals

This is looking to be a big one !!

We now have beds enough for everybody thanks to Al's and Lancer's booking generosity !!

So if you are planning to come -- say so !!

Wednesday we have two open futon/bunks, one in apt. one in room

if a top bunk position bothers you, jest do what I do -- take the mattress off the bunk bed and lay it on the floor, sleep on it and then put it back in the morning. Only 4 inches to fall iffen you do it that way !! (not to mention those midnight bathroom trips are Sooooo much easier to do)

If someone needs to use one of the beds in there, that'll be okay. If not, I'll use the room alone. Oh no !!! People do prefer beds to air mattresses you know -- plus you got to have somebody to snore for you or you will get all lonely and neglected.

I just looked and found out that I am only about 5 hours from the Dragon, and even though this is the busiest time of the year for me at work - I would love to come down for a few days. Working most of the day on Wednesday the 27th and arriving late in the day would work best for me. I would probably only stay for Thursday and Friday....unless it is just so much fun that I can't resist staying longer. I have a trailer and can stay in it.......or I can bring a cot and share a room.....whatever is available. This would certainly be affected by the weather for me, as I really don't like riding in the rain.

Any space available for me on those 2 days? Even just a parking space and an occasional use of a shower is all I need.

I stuff the bike....and sometimes myself into the trailer. I bought it for overnite trips with my trials bike...but the LS650 fits into it as well. On the trip to New York to pick up the LS650 I slept in the trailer 2 nights in a row. I got about 28 mpg on the trip!

Hi, guys,
Here's an update on my status for this trip. I am trying to work it with my other commitments. If I come it will likely be for Wednesday through Friday. I will be riding the bike from Connecticut (that's about 1000 miles). A lot depends on how my June 10-13 ride to the Laconia, NH bike meet goes (with me and the bike). If that ride goes well, and I get the necessary OKs I would like to head south to the Skyline Drive, Blue Ridge Parkway, DragonTail, and GAR highway across N PA.

If I show, I will happily share a room if there's space. Otherwise I'll get a room of my own. What's the name/location of the motel you guys are booking?

If you were committing, we have a bed free starting Wednesday in the Apartment.

I hope to leave Monday morning and be in "Dragon country" befor dark. I might have to put a factory headgasket on befor then , the copper one is not working out too good ! I just retorked it and haven't got to take a (day) ride on it to check out the results yet.

I'll stay till my but gets tired ! but I have a Harley Fat-boy seat on it , if only harley motors were worth a flip !

Is the copper gasket not maintaining a good seal ?

Ok, I put air in my tires and changed my oil .....

I am good to go. Got to stuff some clothes in a plastic bag, that's all.

My travel mate has decided we need a truck --- he's cautious and his bike is a 30 year old Honda 550.

So, I will arrive in AC comfort, well rested and mebbe a little bit bored. Get to watch the scenery for once, I guess.

I will bring a sleeping bag and a couple of air mattresses (nice canvas style air mattresses with the standard old air mattress guarantee which is fill up two, then switch out when the first one goes flat on you)

I plan to stay the week, Bill plans to truck back to Fayetteville on Wednesday. If folks are done with the sleeping bag and mattresses they can ride back to Fayetteville with Bill.

OF responds: Bill is the endless hopeful optimist --- it was T6. This week I changed the oil in all my vehicles (it was oil change week !!!)
