OK, reading several active threads in different places and putting them together ----

Motobudda is about ready to debuit his RYCA and we might talk him into coming to the Dragon if we try a little bit.

Lancer is trying to fix REX (electrical grimlins)

MMRanch is putting his cammed big piston bike back together

FUN on the Dragon this summer

What if ????

We gona use Dragon central as a base camp ?

If each of us planed a "Day-Ride" ,  What are chances of two of us planning the same ride ?

We've always had good rides in the past , and some of the best have been "Wonder where this goes?"---Like that hwy.80 thing was that a neat supprise or what !

Also that road that turned gravel and went on along beside the river (for-ever) , if we end up on some of them (I'd rather have pavement) but those are OK too !

Anybody else thought along those lines yet ?

Cheesy

Anybody ever been to "CowCampRidge" around "SaltSpringsMountain" ?

Huh

This is the same crew that has already been on them unexpected dirt road jaunts before, eaten them high flying lawnmower grass discharge flows and ridden over the little surprised forest friends in their squeaking splatting little multiples.

We knows what we is signing up fer.   Everybody else has read about it fer years now, so it isn't a surprise to anybody.

Only requirement is everybody MUST PACK a real NC & Tennessee road map in their saddle bags in case of separation anxiety (so you can make it back to the Gap Hotel at night).

I get anxious sometimes, when I wait for an hour and nobody makes it to the logical next gas station stop at the end of the Skyway --- I have ridden back up the road over 1/4 way expecting to see some parked bikes by an overview type outside turn with all the people missing "gone off down the hill" a lookin'.

I do get anxious sometimes  .....

Lancer knows what I mean -- he had to come back once "trying to find everybody" only to find " one bike sideways on the grass" with strange bystanders stopped and gathered around it with his people laying out on the grass (the visual puckered him up pretty good I suspect).

We wuz all napping, waiting fer the epoxy to come back with Toymaker.

Toymaker's been there, Lancer's been there, BigZuk and MM and Oldfeller have observed and band-aided and epoxied up the various splits and cracks as needed so we have been there.   We all tend to make it through well enough despite blown tires and all sorts of stuff.

==============

We has all been there and done that -- the Dragon trip is still too much fun to resist.

Given a whole week to work with, I think we can get into all sorts of trouble jest going at it one day at a time all civilized like.

I do see one real mebbe possible sort of problem for Bigzuk -- he still looks a lot like me.

Grin
.... honest Officer, my bike is painted yellow and always has been.   I dunno who that old silver granny biker wuz, honest.

Does this mean you get to regale us at dinner about exactly what max speed we actually reached doing down the long down hill sweeper into Dead Man's Holler?

"Ain't no freekin' way I was going over 70mph down that downhill sweeper turn !!!"

Kel, upon gettin' his groove speed cherry busted 2 years ago by BigZuk's equipment ....

The old tried and true way is to get a big ball of string, tie it to a tree and let it roll out as we go.  Then we can find our way home.

I thought the goal was to get so lost you found yourself noticing the young sirens skinny dipping over there on the rocky creek bank ....

OldFeller

Those Sirens will turn you into a toad, and justleey so (ain't no telling what you be thinking)!

But if you put together a day-ride with a SIRENS stop along the way I'll put you in a box so you doin't get lost and try to keep you from getting squeezed to hard .  Grin

But by the same token we have to partake of any Babtistisms we just have to come accross !  Wink

Yeah !!!   Baptise me, baby !!!

It will be so hot we'll all line up for the chunky dunk'n jest to get cooled off good.

Plus, there isn't any biblical restriction to the number of times you can get baptized, likely we all need rededication at least once every new century.

No, it just gives max speed. But the kool button is when we don't know how the heck to get back to Deals Gap or whatever basecamp, Jill will show us the way!  Cool Cool
