That's great Lancer,  now when do you plan to go do the heavy duty black lining?   Early or late?

Keep in mind that I've ridden very little since the accident last year.
I was wearing a body brace still when I road the mountains...VERY CAREFULLY.
I anticipate I will be back on a learning curve when first arriving unless I can get up in the area and practice some.  I figure I'll be in the 1/2 - 3/4 range at the get go.

Mike, how about Kent? He always seems to have a good time.

Kel hasn't spoken up yet either.

Yep, any and all days I can get someone to ride with. Any roads any time. Oh, tent for me. Just tell me when and where.
This weekend too soon?

Zuk, you are the Master of Roads hither and yon up in that general area.

Between you and Lancer and a topgraphical map we are expecting some EXCELLENT road trips up places that ain't got no names and mebbe back down the backsides of them same mountains if the road goes thru that is.

(some of our best rides have been like that --- visit the rich people up on the crest line of the mountain and ride the dirt road down the back side of the mountain down to where the 'po folks live)

I like the rich folks pavement better that the poor mans gravel but it sure was FUN !

That River Road has stuck in my memory as good times.   Both of them  : 1 the one ToyMaker took us too
2 the one that was gravel and beat Lancer up last year it seemed to go on forever !

That remines me  I'm bring "EXTRA GAS" on the Day Rides this time.

Well, for early planning we got it sussed about as good as you can do this far out.

We have a date span of Monday June 25, checkin at 3 pm, through Monday morning July 1 with one large end room reserved by Lancer.

We have intent shown by enough people to fill that room up, some arriving at different times.

The various boyo's have pm'd me about what their poor old bodies can do and what their nerves can handle, so this trip will be us going around to interesting places at no more that 9 over the posted speed limit, or thereabouts.

Nothing wide open "rip up them two hurleys and leave them dragging on their undersides" on this here little trip.   No playing dodge the cars oncoming, no playing "pass them in the tunnel".  No killing the little roadside animals because they can't get out of the way fast enough.

Now all the casual readers discount all this stuff as fluff & nonsense -- but then again, some others were there as witnesses.

And all of us will be there again, now won't we?

.... jest older and feebler, with joints that tell us NO !! all the time now.

We are too old to get that durn feisty any more.   Remember that.

I've never been though I hope to someday.  I hope somebody takes some good pics or maybe even some video.  In any case, y'all enjoy the scenery and the camaraderie.

Sad thing is that unless there is an east coast west coast best trip contest like there was last year, nobody generally bothers to take any detailed type pictures at all.   Busy riding ....

Last year we tried the pic thing, but got skunked out on the cute meter and simply never could recover from the skunking by rippin' or roaring nor anything else that we did.

Not even by going out at 3:30 AM in zombie weather without a flash light ....

Wink

Rob, get up with Verslagen and see how he makes it over about every 2-3rd year to ride the ride.  He uses an jet to do it ...

I'm leaning toward trying to maybe make it to a Talimena trip one fall soon.

Dallas isn't but a measly 1000 miles.
You can get to my place in a GOOOOD day.

1,000 miles/85 mph = 12 hours with four brief pit stops

Sheesh -- be merciful, give the man a couple of days each way.  Time to sleep, time to eat, some occasional time to separate his underwear from his fundament.

Rob, you need to team up with somebody that has a truck, put the bikes in the back and take turns driving.  That way you can bop it on through straight and still be in riding shape when you get here.
