Sounds like the preference so far is for a standard Dragon week event.

Let's see, the "standard week" is the week before the week of the 4th of July, so that would be Sunday June 24th through Sunday July 1st.

Last time the group got whammied out of the 4-6 person rooms completely because we booked late.

So if we want a 4-6 person room, we had better start churning the fine details like arrival dates and starting to count down the people on a room.

How many days total this time?  Want to go early in the week before, or wait later on in the week (closer to the 4th)?

We have done this enough for you guys to have some preferences, I think, so lay it on out the way you want to see it happen.

Which Days?          speaky speaky  ---  don't be squeaky !!

I think it works best for me if I arrive on a Wed. mid-day,then leave on Sun am. That gives me a day of riding in Shenendoah National Park on the way down there. I enjoy Skyline Drive, so I'll probably do it again this year. I can change these plans at any time, so keep the ideas coming. I can do the large apartment or the smaller room, doesn't matter to me.

I like "launching" from Deals Gap Motorcycle Resort.  From there we can design our own rides to any number of places.  As for time, the tradition seems to be the week before Independence Day.  I'm probably good for Wednesday until Saturday or Sunday.

MM and Lancer, you gonna declare for the trip?

If you do, that's one big end room full enough for a deposit.    And since it is just the same old repeat criminals who know what they are doing, I will feel safe enough to come myself.

If I haven't killed you in 6 years, your odds of surviving are "good enough" fer me.

If I didn't feel safe, I wouldn't have gone back year after year. And if I don't feel like keeping up with you maniacs, I'll just fall back and see you back at the base camp. But it hasn't been a problem for me yet.
I didn't think I was gonna get much riding in the year that my baffle blew out. My bike was kinda loud and shooting little pieces of metal at anyone riding behind me.

Let's see .....

AlfromNH
Serenity
Oldfeller
Lancer
Toymaker
MMRanch?  BigZuk?

That is one large end room slam full already.   I will get in contact with the Dragon lodge folks and ring us down for Weds night -- through Saturday night.

Other than riding around the area, anybody got any "wanna go" places or mebbe a "wanna do" thing or two?   Within a normal big sweep day, we go out past Asheville and back with no real trouble.  Dollywood, Gatlinburg, the Knife place -- all are easy do in a full day.

Never went as far as Boone before though...     Wink

Let's hear some suggestions for the triperoonies

Heck, if you are nice MM might show you his favorite squirrel hunting road on the way to No Where.   We'll already be going on my favorite  possum road anyway, it is Fontana Dam road and it's a doozie for getting you a big 'ol rat tailed road bump or mebbe even a lacksadasical Ducati or two.

We went to Boone before...spent the night there in a campground.
Also spent the night in a motorcycle campground too.
Little tiny cabin.
We bunked together at that place.
Had a nice pond.
Parked the truck out by the road.
We were running black lines for 3 days straight that year.
At least it seemed like 3 days.
Or maybe just 2; but it sure was fun.

Book the room for Monday to Monday; I'm coming early and staying late.  Yee-Haa

Lancer, if you want to go Monday to Monday you need to put the reservation into your name as you will get there first.

I won't be there that early as I can't take more than about 2-3 days of hard riding before my body starts to quit on me.

Or, if you want to go do the serious black lining before the rest of the less crazy folks get there, I'll come on Monday with you and leave on Friday.

Either way is good, just needs to be spelled out.

==============

I still think there needs to be a little separation of "intensity" or you won't get anybody normal to come for the main Dragon section.   I think Serenity, Rocket Phil, and whoever the Dragon newbies might be need to have some days that they feel comfortable with.

Reservations for large room made for Monday June 25, checkin at 3 pm, through Monday morning July 1, with checkout at 11 am.
This was the last large room for these dates so we just did get in on time.
