Early crew -- (Lancer, Verslagen, Oldfeller) showing up Monday, 6/27
with an avowed purpose to do go some interesting things before Wednesday.
Interesting things -- fun things --
Verslagen has never seen the touristy side of the East Coast Mountain region -- he's never walked over the Mile High bridge or walked to the very crumbly edge of that ugly nasty overhanging drop off cliff ....
Yup, I still have me some residual fear of very high places that requires overcoming periodically and this is the VERY BEST "overcoming" spot on the east coast, lemme tell ya !!
What else is worth doing for a West Coaster while he's up there in the High Country? There is a shite pot of stuff up there that you took your kids to back when they were growing up, but which items have I forgotten about that are sooooo good that you simply gotta go again jest to watch the expression on his face?
Verslagen is a calm one who doesn't express a lot -- I want something either make him grin & laugh out loud or shiver in his shoes and back off from the edge of it when the wind suddenly blows hard and he realizes there ain't no guard rail t'wixt him and forever ....
(or when a big ol' gust of wind comes up hard under the mile high bridge and you feel it rise 5-10 ft up under your feet and start to shake side to side like a dog shaking water out of his fur)You know -- the good stuff that you make a bucket list out of
Need some help here folks -- what's your personal bests?
My wife was always partial to when you were deep deep inside one of the caves and they cut all the lights out jest to show you what dark really really is like ..... which always pisses the bats off and they start flying around you.
She still remembers that one .... climbed me like a tree she did.
