Slow but steady progress

I have a guy fabing up a lot of stuff for my bike.  This is the progress so far.  New tank, rear fender and bars.  Still working on the seat (I will not be using the one in the pics)  Also, I will be changing out the headlight to something much smaller.  Yes I'm keeping the shocks.  I'm too old for a hardtail.  Wink




I can't wait to finally ride it!

1) That is sick! Everything.
2) Whats up with the bars on the wheel?  I see the throttle connected to the mounted set, but.... I just dont understand and cant even ask a reasonable question.

Thanks man!

Those are the old bars.  They still have the clutch attached that's why they are hanging.  I'm still trying to decide if I want a jockey shift or not.
The throttle housing and cable are new.  
Just got the new master cylinder in the mail yesterday.  It's nice and small.

The second shot reminds me of how much I hate belt drive. The swingarm and shock are way out to the left. It makes the bike look asymmetrical. I've considered modifying the swingarm or having a new one built after I convert to chain drive.

But, anyway, not meaning to threadjack -- the bike is looking very cool. Hurray for giant metalflake.

Yep, I thought a lot about that but in the end decided to keep the belt.

The flake paint will only be on there until I can afford to get the whole bike painted.

As best I can...

There is an "L" shaped bracket welded to the front of the swing-arm.  The front of the fender is bolted there.  

There are holes drilled in the rear of the swing-arm on each side to mount the struts, which in turn bolt to the fender.

This allows the fender to move with the swing arm and maintain the narrow gap between the tire and fender.  Everything bolted instead of welded allows me to remove the fender for paint, and/or to remove the rear tire.

I'll get a few, better pictures the next time I am over at the shop.
