Kawasaki Bevel Head

I want one and it is getting closer to reality.
This from official Kaw info.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_g_BsOfWGmo

19 inch front 18 inch rear, about as retro as it gets.
The bevel head cam drive is copied from sixties era Ducati an a few Brits.
The twin tube frame and style is all Brit.

The new Modern-Retro Kawi is the W800 ... a larger displacement version of the W650 pic'd above. Not sure if it's going to be offered in North Am for 2011 (according to CMG Online ... Canuck motorcycle webzine) ... if Kawi can do and market an 800 Modern-Retro, then why the H-E-Double Hockey Sticks can't they bring back the W650?? Huh

Quite possibly because of :

a. emissions regulations (but Suzuki markets the S40 in the US, while they binned it from the EU lineup)

b. they didin't sell in large enough quantities to make it a convenient import

c. all of the above.

I, for one, would like to see an 800cc "S50", at least as a "custom-to-order" upgrade for the S40.
Possibly with a rear disc brake and 6-speed gearbiox, by the way... Roll Eyes
