New Norton Dealers: United States:
Southbay Norton, 2101 Pacific Coast Highway, Lomita, CA. 90717

9 miles south of my house.  I'll stop by and take a look when they finally arrive.   If you buy one I'll deliver it to your house, free, plus airfare for me back to L.A..

Good on you, but i'm afraid that my life is full of unfullfilled dreams and longings, still like a kid, drooling over all the glossy photos for nigh on sixty years

I have been waiting for these bikes for yearsssssssssssssssssssssss.
I would sell my house if I still had it to get one.
I am totally in love with this beautiful machine.
It is mechanical beauty to me.
I cannot afford one right now, but hopefully in a year or two .........

Without a passenger seat I would think they wouldn't sell very good.

32" seat.  If I had all the money in the world, I still wouldn't be able to ride that bike.  I would want to.  I would be in love with it, but I wouldn't be able to ride it.

Copy that, +1+1+1 !

All they needed to do was provide an optional long/medium/short inseam suspension setup.
But, come to think of it, it can be done at the local shop as well.

1) Figure out your preferred seat height (i.e., leg inseam +/- 1 inch)
2) Fit shorter/longer shock absorbers to the rear;
3) Rise/lower front forks on triple tree as required to keep bike level.

So, all you need is to determine the length of the required shock absorbers (i.e., 2" shorter) and lower the bike's front fork by possibly 1-1.5" on the triple tree.

BUT

Why go through all that cr4p and have to PAY for it, when it should be a Norton engineer who should have come up with the solution in the first place ?

AND

" Engine type: New engine developed by Norton and F1 engine builders, MCT of Oxfordshire,   England. Parallel twin with push-rod valve actuation, dry sump, 3 bearing crank and balancer shaft. "
Huh
Stone age F1 technology, or what ??? H3ll, they had OHC engines in the 1920's !!!  Angry

I have had experience shortening shocks.  It never works.  You shorten the travel, lose the handling, and end up riding a brick.  They just need to design one model of one bike for short riders (5"6" and under).  I cannot believe that no motorcycle company is able to do that. I am positive that they would sell.  I would probably buy a couple myself.

Hi Gerald, actually, once I did exactly the opposite.

My trosty old Moto Guzzi V5o Monza had wonderful Paioli rear shocks, but they were no match for Rome's cobblestones  Tongue
As you can imagine, they would throw an oil seal or two, and I would have to rebuild them every winter.

Then, I came across a set of "ignorant" (i.e., hydraulic only) shocks designed for the Moto Guzzi 850 LeMans Mk1.
Not only were they stiffer, they were also some 3 - 4cm. longer.
I bought them immediately, and fitted them...
OMG !!!  Lips Sealed
It felt like I was riding downhill even when stationary...
Undecided
So I asked for some advice, crimped (with wire) two coils together at the middle, set them on lowest compression (softest setting) and the bike rode true for years and years...
Smiley
Quite simply, the V50's Paiolis were underengineered...
Sad

It doesn't look to bad for a pre war design, any Ducati in the 600cc range would make that Norton look like a noddy bike (noddy bike is one that seniors glom onto). You would have thought that Norton would have learned it's lessons from the Italians and Japs, they all went multi cylinder,And norton kept going with Manx norton, A beautiful bike ,but way past it's sell date.
They will sell a few ,but only a few ,I hope the new owner has plenty of money and balls, He might have to knock on Mr Ducati's door and buy a few engines.

Now if the new Norton looked like this ,it would sell a whole better than
bloody OHV twin.
