Any idea why the plug would be great at first and get progressively worse? Is that symptomatic of a bad coil or cdi?

Is there any smoke at the exhaust? A stuck or broken ring causing low compression could be causing hardstart, and the oil may be slowly passing to the plug electrode.

Very little smoke at start up. I'm beginning to think that I am possibly fouling the plug because of the carb being tuned too lean. I plan to first change plugs and then follow Lancer's directions to tune it before swapping petcocks. The reason I think this is because it is only 1 turn out. I possibly didn't idle up before adjusting giving me a false "reading".

Sorry, lean doesn't foul your plugs.  It makes them turn white.

Way too rich does foul your plugs (crumbly dry black), as does oil consumption (greasy black).

Plugs can be damaged due to excessive engine temperature which can result from lean condition I believe. Maybe my use of the word "foul" is incorrect.

I haven't pulled the current plug yet. The others that have stopped firing, IIRC, have looked closest to "normal" or "too hot". I'll pull it over the weekend and post my findings then.

Just pulled the plug; looks dry, sooty (not built up), and black. Carbon fouling? New plug fires great. New petcock will be here Monday. I'll replace it, clean the tank, check the carb adjustment per Lancer's directions, and go from there. Thanks

New plug now looks just like the one I took out, so I decided to check out some other things. Valves are dead on .004"  I decided to pull the carb and disassemble it to just be sure. That's when I discovered that after messing with the carb tuning for so long, the fuel mixture screw is buggered up to the point that it will be tough to get out to replace it. To prevent ordering more parts than what I need, what comes with a carb rebuild kit? Thanks
