I'm gonna take a few days off work and do some free golfing at one of the local courses. Offers free golfing for veterans all week long. I hope it's not snowing by then. Sad

We have a day of rememberance in England ,were everyone buys a  poppy, the money goes to help veterans of all wars and service,
complete with hostel type living quarteres ,and of course free medical for all, that is All people, not just vets ,the only vets who live on the street are their because they want to be.
So what goes on here at all these parades ? last week on 60 minutes they showed thousands of vets living on the streets, they had a 3 day camp for these guys ,they could get cleaned up,shaves ,haircuts, and some free clothing, but no medical help other than camping out at a vet hospital ,you may or may not get seen.
When I was in we Brits were so enviuse of your uniforms, nice soft gaberdine, and field jackets to die for, I have one now and love it.
You take great care of your military while they are in but................

Yea, crying shame isn't it. Not just the feds that treat vets crappy either , state and locals arn't much better. when I came back from desert storm, the wanted us all spit shined so we could march through the streets of NY, DC and our local town of Hinesvilles. I was waiting for them to start throwing peanuts at us. In the mean time I was charged over $150.00 to have all of my utilties turned back on, just 10 months before I was charged close to $100.00 to turn them all off! GA state police gave me a $40.00 ticket for having an expired tag 3 days after I got home. Got home on a thursday and got a ticket on Sunday. Angry

Hey Mick -

Isn't it our friend Bill in Wisconsin who gets all of his medical services at the VA, and is happy with it?

As for the cop who gave piglt that ticket - he should be ashamed.
