Harley Front End
10/30/10 at 17:39:12
I am looking to convert my front end to a sporster wide glide. Has anybody done this before. I would really appreciate some advice.
Current bike:
2001 ls650 w/
2007 gsxr600 motor
2007 gsxr600 swingarm and rear shock
shaved seat
raised tank
drag bars
and many more extras...
thanks,
-ray

I'm wondering why. It's the same Showa set up. You'll have to change so much and have the same.

Didn't know that a sportster wide glide existed...didn't think you could shoehorn a GSXR600 motor into the LS650 frame either. I call B.S. unless he can show some pics

...O.K. I admit I am the +++ ANTI-HARLEY +++. It started long ago with Easy Rider however was reestablished when a work acquaintance bought a Virago and said " I bought it because it looks like a Harley". Well, of course I said, why don't you just get a f#ck!n Harley?

Funny thing is I didn't bother to read his 'specs". Yes, pure BS. Couldn't even lie well. He picked a water cooled motor to stick in his fantasy bike.
and a mono rear

sorry for the lack of description. i was hoping to get positive feed back.
if you want details on the bike i can discuss that, but my question still stands. I have come across a custom front wheel that is too wide for the savage front end. I've been looking for an easy solution to fit a wide glide.

LOL!!!!! If someone is makin' a Custom outa an LS650, then it don't matter to me if Harley parts are goin' to be used or not ... it's all COOL ... I'm just interested in reading about the creative progress and of course seein' the finished product!
Good luck with your build dude ... please keep us posted!

Blows me out of the water! I suppose the more twisted the common thought the more creative. As to your front end. If you were able to fab that rear end and motor to the Savage frame I'm sure you have the ability to adapt any front end.

I respectfully withdraw my BS comment and ask for forgiveness
Quite the bike you've got there & I'm sure it was a TON of work getting those parts to work on the Savage frame, but when there is a will, there is a way. As far as your original question, I have no idea what it would take to put a wide glide front end on your Frankenbike.
Good luck, I hope you find a way to accomplish it and post some more pics of the details...

Good luck with your endeavor highmoon. I have no way of helping you, except for trying to protect you from the meanies. But its a cool looking project. Please keep us posted, we love pics. And new ideas are always fun! Where are you located anyway?
